Ancient Greek Numbers & Corresponding Letters

Have you ever wonder how the Ancient Greek Numerical system looked like? Knowing the Roman numbers (I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX X MCC ) give us an important clue, that the Ancient Greek Numerology must have had alphabetic letters assigned to a number. Manipulating numbers, for our wise anscestors, and ancient philosophers,  have also meant, the metaphysics of sounds.

When Ancient Greek Philosophers, and Pythagoras spoke of one (1), two (2), three (3), and four (4 )they also spoke of the SOUNDS.

In the ancient and medieval manuscripts, the numerals had a letter + overbars: α, β, γ

In Ancient Greek for example, 241 as 200 + 40 + 1 would have been ΣMA or 666 is written as χξϛ (600 + 60 + 6)

Ž Č Š Đ DŽ are inserted by myself, for the comparison of the Ancient Greek Symbols and the Cyrilic letters. The Ancient Greek does not have the hard sounds of Ch, Dž, Zh.

The Tetractys symbolizes the four elements: fire, air, water, and earth

Tetractys κτισις = creation = sounding as ThISiS

The first four numbers for Pythagoras symbolize the musica universalis and the Cosmos:

1 = Unity or Monad, zero dimension (a point)

2 = Dyad, one dimension (a line of two points)

3 = Triad, two dimensions, a plane defined by a triangle

4 = Kosmos (Tetrad), a tetrahedron defined by four points

The four rows add up to ten, which was unity of a higher order or the Dekad.

Dionysus in Neolithic Europe

Ancient Balkans and Dionysus Cult

Symbols and Signs Research by Nataša Pantović

The so called sacred topography of the Balkans, the northern frontier of the Roman Empire, from the banks of the Danube to the Adriatic Sea, to the south of the Peninsula towards Thessaloniki in Greece, and beyond, towards Malta, Cyprus, Egypt, is the Ancient Europe, hosting most amazing cultures of a number of the oldest advanced civilizations

The village Gamzigrad, 200 AC, is at the banks of the Crni Timok River in Serbia. In 1984 the fragment made of limestone, with an inscription FELIX ROMULIANA, confirmed that Romula’s villa was the memorial of Galerius, co-ruler of Diocletian and Constantine, whose mother was Romulina. Above the village at Magura hill around one kilometre from the main east gate of Romuliana, archaeologists have discovered an ancient grave yard from 300 AC, built on a sacred mound where burial and apotheosis of Galerius’ mother Romula and Galerius himself took place. So the palace, the temples, and the sacred complex was dedicated to Ancient Greek Gods, the emperor and his mother, the post mortal Goddess Romula, who themselves became gods by the consecration act at the mount Magura.

gamzigrad-mosaic-of-the-temple-serbia-300-ac-filix-romula-ancient-temple

Gamzigrad mosaic of the Ancient Temple Complex-300 AC

Galerius worshiped the Dionysus and has deified his mother Romula and himself. Dionysus was the ancient god of wine, fertility, theatre, and religious ecstasy. His Roman name was Bacchus. We find him as a God as early as 1500 BC, worshiped by Mycenean Greeks.

The mosaic representation of Dionysus and the wall relief depicting a sleeping Ariadne symbolize the idea of death – and resurrection, that is, they indicate the two acts of the apotheosis whose impressive material evidence was discovered... The Gamzigrad depiction of Dionysus is the visual representation of this god’s permanent aspiration to bring humans into the world of gods after making them immortal. Dionysus is the saviour of souls and the one who bestows eternal life. Like Dionysus and his mother Semele who joined the gods at the Mount Olympus after Dionysus’ triumphal expedition to India, Galerius, the new Dionysus, and his mother Romula ascended to heaven from the top of Magura hill.”

Maja Živić, Felix Romuliana – Gamzigrad, University of Archaeology, Belgrade, 2011.

The striving for liberation of the Dionysian cult is at the core of Ancient Greek . It is from the Dionysian rites that the idea of the soul related to the divine and the immortality was passed to the Humankind.

Currently known as Canaan (that within its name hid all the important God's sounds “aa”) was in Ancient Egypt and it is most famous for its Amarna Letters from the time of the Babylon Kingdom sent by the Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh AKHeNaTeM during his reign 1,350 BC to 1,330 BC, to his Rulers around the countryCanaan is also known as Phoenicia or present day Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, and Israel.

350 letters carved in 1,350 BC from the King to his Knights! Can you get the complexity and the beauty of this task! What an advanced culture this must have been to be able to communicate with carved letters, to have had wealth and resources we have struggled to achieve since.

Sounds have Shapes that are Numbers

“Sounds have shape,” explains Professor John Aston, from Cambridge’s Statistical Laboratory. “As a word is uttered it vibrates air, and the shape of this soundwave can be measured and turned into a series of numbers. Once we have these stats, and the stats of another spoken word, we can start asking how similar they are and what it would take to shift from one to another.”

Researching Symbols, Sounds and Shapes of the Supreme

we acknowledge that -

For the last two thousand years, it was the prayers that were translated by hand under a candle light, and passed from one researcher to the other, and within the Christian worlds, it would have been the Lord's Prayer passing the ancient wisdom of Gods from one mystic to the other.

The earliest recorded monotheistic non-Christian prayer, liturgy, dates back to the Babylon time, see aXeN and Athena Caanan Tablets or Ancient Egyptian Amorita Letters.

The earliest rituals associated with the offering of wine, dates back to the cult of  DioNisus in Ancient Europe

A fairly early monotheistic notion, of one and supreme , was evident within the development of the languages, and it in its puzzling complexity narrates the mystical story of the Holy Trinity

The esoteric sounds of Ya-Ho-Wa (Ša) materialises on Earth carrying the male and female , in Ancient China taking the form of Tao through Chi manifesting as YiN and YaNG.

This amazing Chi in Ancient Egypt became a variety of sounds of Ž, Đ. Š, Č, Ć, DŽ all represented by different symbols of various Gods and Goddesses. In Europe this early opsession with the sound and numbers stays with the Pythagoras' research of mathematics, frequencies and shapes 111HZ.
